Which holiday has the most meaning for you? Why?
For most Chinese, Chinese New Year is the most important and
valuable holiday and it is significant for me. Chinese New Year has the longest vacation
during the whole year; people or family usually take a trip during this break.
Why the holiday has the most meaning for me because it is the day when the
whole family can gather together. On
general days, we seldom have dinner together because everyone has their lives
and works. My uncle works overseas, my
aunty lives in the south of Taiwan, and our children go to University in
different places; we seldom have chance to gather. Therefore, Chinese New Year
is the most meaning for me. My
grandmother will cook lots of delicious dishes; we chat, and have dinner
together. After having lunch, we set firework enjoying happy hour. The most
interesting thing is that children can get a red envelop with money. We all
love it. That’s why Chinese New Year is significant for me.

Topic #3 Money, Power, or Fame?
It is hard for me to choose one that is
least important form these three things: money, power, and fame, because each
of them is alluring and attractive. If I really have to choose one, it could be
fame. Here are two reasons.
The
first one is that I think money is really important. Everything needs money. If
money were less important, people would not work so hard. People will not be
afraid of losing job or there is no bank robber. The other reason I think if people own the
fame, it means they do not have private space. We usually watch the news form
television or newspaper that paparazzi like to follow superstars and take a
picture. As celebrities, their life or behavior would magnified and examined by
people. Although they own fame, they lose personal space. I don’t want my life
to be that. Therefore , fame could be least important for me.

My name is Chuyun, chen. My nickname is Sharon. It is easy to call me if you are not Chinese. I come from Taiwan. Before I came to US, I studied information management in my country. It's not easy for me so I will change my major in graduate school. I came here for improving my English and start master.
I like to go to beach so that's why I came to California. In my hometown, I always go to beach with friend. The beach gave me a lot of feeling and made me relax. I could share anything for my friends. When I came to here, I went to beach every weekend on the summer. So now I really look forward to next summer. I will enjoy my beach time.
What are my hobbies? I like to watch drama, including Taiwanese and Korean drama. Some dramas are very interesting and funny. I could spend all day watching it. Last week, I went to my favorite band's concert in LA. The band’s name is " MAYDAY". Last year and this year , they held concert in many countries including China, Japan, London and USA. When I was in the Taiwan, I went to their concert every time. By the way, I was glade because I took the same flight with them. I meet them in the LAX. I enjoy American life and hope that I could make lots of friends.
Topic#2 The strangest thing i have eaten
The strangest thing i have eaten is whale meat. One day,
when i was in Taiwan, i saw some pieces of meat served on the table; it looked
like kind of different from other meat. I asked my Mon what it was; she told me
it was whale meat. I was shocked when I hear that it was whale meat. Then i
tried it, it was not tasty. It tasted oily and greasy like tuna. My Mon said that a friend gave us, but it is illegal to kill whale and have it in Taiwan so i didn't know where it came from. Although it was special experience I hope people don't kill whale any more.
